Welcome to Independent Authors.org! We are excited to have you! We welcome Authors and Writers of all genre,
as well as avid readers; or simply readers that are looking for different and fresh books and novels to read from the web.
What about us readers! Is this only for authors and writers?
Absolutely not! We would love not only the readers that might be looking for or found us because of a specific author or type of book or novel, but also avid book readers that want to create a critic or review site, so you can talk about all your favorite authors, and even your not so favorite ones. Author Critics and Book Reviews are a beautiful asset to the industry, although sometimes we might not think so as an author on the receiving end. We would also love for you to put that on your professional resume, as a critic for, you guessed it, IndependentAuthors.org!
What is an Independent Author?
Definition: Independent Author: An independent Author is someone that writes and publishes books themselves through a printing house, and retains the rights and privileges a publisher normally posesses. An independent author does not go through the traditional publishing channels for the novels and books they have written. We support books and novels that are published through traditional channels too, but the submission level is so high to the Agents that submit books and novels to Publishers, that there is no possible way they can get to everyone. (That is what they tell most independent authors anyway.)
Indie Authors are the future!
What is an Indie Author? An indie author is simply an independent author that is described above. Most indie authors write, proof the work to a good quality themselves, and takes their story to the market through the self publishing channels now available, called independent publishing channels. Amazon among others have now created a new platform in recent years that allows independent authors of books and novels to publish their own books without the traditional publishers. Authors can sign in to an Amazon sister site, Create Space, as a self publisher, and anyone can now publish written books and novels of all genre or subject matter. Independent authors can see their books and novels go to print; whether it is fiction, suspense, action adventure, love stories, poetry, short or long.
A home for Independent Authors or Writers, (Indie Authors and Writers)
This website is for all authors, even authors with their own websites, but also independent authors and writers that would like to have a website presence and do not have their own website. Many Indie Authors (now that we know what that is), have a beautiful ability to write, but do not have a website ability to put together information that can be searchable on the web, even a place they might call home. With our automatic search engine submit tools, easy share options, as well as a place to link out to their own marketing and book purchasing pages (including Facebook and Twitter among other social networking sites), our goal is to create a home and increased web presence to help in the author’s success.
Simply sign up, sign in, write your pages and upload your pictures! We love to see you link to anywhere that supports your work, link your page to other websites and use inbound links from other sites to your author pages. Mostly we encourage a link out to places where readers can buy your books and novels. You may links to friends, anywhere you choose to share!
This site is for you, the author. We provide the ability to create an author category that you can call “all your own”. This Author category can include a page for each book you write and no limit on the number of books. Authors can even create a page named author blog, so you have a place to talk to your peers, readers, or simply show where readers can find your blog if you have one already.

We have an instruction page linked at the top, complete with an easy six step process for the web novice. This is for you if you can not figure it out. All it takes is a valid email address, and the first post must be reviewed by us, then you are on your way! All further posts are realtime. Our posts are realtime to Google, Bing, MSN, and Yahoo too! Tools included easy share buttons so your twitter and facebook skills become a one click, make a comment, and share to the specific page and information you want to see. When you use these tools, you will see the beautiful presentation it lends on your Facebook page too, even makes “tiny urls” for your Twitter. When you click on them, you can trust that the link is done by a third (and very trusted) party. We never see any social network sign-in information here!
How Much, do you ask? Money? “What’s money?”
Nothing. Free, Nada, Mi Casa, Su Casa, believe it or not, this free for everyone. We are all authors and writers, even the administrator of this site has a Kindle, an Amazon paperback book, so we all have a place to call home and play. Hopefully more than anything, we have created a place that is found on the web, and an additional place for your works to be found. That is the authors’ battle.
With so many great pieces of work, so many great independent authors and writers, we all want readers to find us. At one point in time you might find an advertisement or two to help support the costs, but it is all about connecting readers and authors. Right now, the costs are on us, and we will NEVER charge for this opportunity to share your works. The Authors’ content is our bread and butter, and we are in love with the idea that there are bread and butter lovers out there that like to eat us up.

Play, look, comment where you can, jump on in and visit often. As we saw the limitations outside of Amazon and other sites that discourage trying to make their blogs a place to advertise or actually link to our books, we encourage it! Not only encourage it, but that is what this is all about!!!
